Hi !

This is a shot i made for a short movie by Philippe Roman.
I used 3dsMax for the rendering, and After effects for the compositing.
The interesting part was to match the real car they used for the rest of the movie.
This is not perfect (there is a frame with rendering artifacts in the midddle of the shot), but the production time was quite short.
Feel free to critique and drop a comment !

Wow thats really impressive the only crit i have is that the shadow on the door is casted kinda funny it makes the car doors look like there outlined in black....maybe dont make the door shadows so harsh soften them up a bit...other than that the compositing is fantasic !! :deal:

Really cool man! good feel for the suspension and motion and everything.
although I think if a car fell from that far up, it would kinda fall apart.
but COOL!

appart for the composition, wich is maybe a little flat.

Cool scene especially with a realistic looking car and its landing looked good, though I feel the way the car fell should be more faster since it looked like it came down with a parachute. Overall, good work!

V kewel.
The dust movement is V realistic. The car should be leaned during fall, in the nature the gravity doesn't affect all car parts equally because the weight will vary among those parts .

Looks good for the rendering. The car seems to be a bit too flat, not enough reflection even for a junker car.

The animation looks a bit odd though. Since I can't see the thing that is dropping the car I was expecting it to be falling down with great speed. I was also expecting it to end up rather broken on impact; even a fall from that height would probably destroy a car.

thanks for your comments !
I'am not satisfied with the animation too, wich i found quite unrealistic, but this was a choice from the director. (and i wasn't there when he shoot the plate, so i couldn't give my input for the framing of the shot)
