MrNoodlez 06-08-2005, 01:40 AM Hey all, this is a couple of pics of my cottage, its my first actual scene i have created.
im still a newbie at this and just been learning the basics of 3d the past couple of weeks, but i think this is comming along ok.

its almost there, just a few things to sort out, the bottom screen is actually a quick render and a quick blur and stuff in photoshop to give it a glow look, nothing final, i was just trying to a get a feel of how i wanted it to look.
any comments or crits very welcome.
thanks

Nice style and cute environment. It looks somewhat "small" as if it was a moder rather than a realistic house but it depends which was your goal. To me it looks as a perfect environment for a childs movie. What it's clear it that is not finnished it lack something on it, something happening... ;)

very nice work considering you're new to 3d. it looks slghtly odd in the scene but the model by itself is fantasitic. it would be nice to see some more details in the texturing to give it a little bit more life. such as moss or creepers on the bottom of the house's walls, and some soot around the chimney. other than its certainly coming along very well

thanks for your feedback guys, really appreciate it.
and yeah conundrum, i deffo think it needs those details too, im still learning the whole uvw mapping process thats why i havent gone crazy with the textures, ill try to add some stuf here and there on the house though...
-Kharn-, too true, i was actually leaving the grass and stuff till last, ive been messing with hair plugins etc but none have been too succesful just yet, so it was just a bit of advanced painter for the grass.
llunasol, my mum said exactly the same thing, she said it looked like one of those pottery statues, hehe. My goal in the end was to put some wildlife in to liven it up, butterflies, birds etc, will give it a try soon, i never knew how long modelling actually took and my scene is now running fairly slow in max. :scream:
One thing to ask.... is there a way to add motion blur to just one object in the scene without making everything go blurry or animating anything?
once again, thanks for the feedback guys, appreciate it.
