Hi to all
I have a little question on the batch rendering
I have found these files in the ..\Maya6.0\bin\rendererDesc\ folder
- fileRenderer.xml
- hwRenderer.xml
- mrRenderer.xml
- swRenderer.xml
- vrRenderer.xml
My attention fall on mrRenderer.xml because if I type render -r mr -help it prompt the same type of things.
So my question is :
if i mod mrRenderer.xml adding some instructions can i use these in the batch render (ex. I want to set min max samples without open the scene )?
Anyone can help me?
Sorry for my very bad english

You most can certainly control a large number of parameters for a command line render. there are some limitations if you are using the maya render call - but currently that's the way it is unless you have access to the MR standalone.

The .xml file themselves have nothing to do with the render as far as I know. I'm quite sure that they are just part of the help documentation. You would not want to amend these.

Normally you would create a .bat file in a text editor to call the render with the parameters your wish to set at render time. Another method is to use the pre/post mel capacity.

There are serveral good recent posts in these forums on how to do batch renders...
