View Full Version : final group project
geekbot 06-07-2005, 10:45 AM hi all.
this is the end product of our final group project. the group was picked by our teacher so no buddies could work together. (trying to get us ready for the real world. you dont get to pick your work buddies. you get a job, you gota get the work done.)
this was a good experience. because there where many different work ethics in all the groups of our class.
there where 5 in our group. names and who done what, are in the credits.
we all look forward to your c & c's

Hey guys,
That was a nice short.
The story was a little too simple for my taste, didn't have much body. You expect things to happen, but in the end it is a bit of a letdown. But hey, doesn't matter.
The scenery is ok, wasn't that special, but good enough for the story. Lightning was average.
My main critic is that it did not have a 'soul'. The voicework was uninspired, but so was the character, the dog, the scenery, the story. I've seen it before. It did not have something special, or something personal from you guys. And I really hate those ingame introductions of the dog and the mailman.
But, those are my 2 cents...just my opinion.
Just one thing was very good...the animation of the characters was fine! Flowed well, looked good...maybe some animationspecialists have something to say about it, but I don't...
Greetz,
Cannonball
Ps. I'm not bashing you guys, just telling you what I feel

I would have to semi agree on the intros of the characters. Instead of doing a cut to something like the in-game rotations why not have like flyers advertising new dog models or something. Or a tv ad that the mail robot happens to pass by. I think that would intro the characters much better.
The rust textures on the dog were either not staying put, did you freeze the model? Or they were jittering like crazy.
My favorite part was the end where there was the pile of mail man heads looking around. That was funny.
eye.

animation wise....I agree with cannon ball...but the only way is up....
