View Full Version : Losing track of your brush/cursor ?

Am I the only one that has this problem ? Especially when working on/on top of medium saturated colors (or greys) I keep loosing track of my smaller brushes/pencils....

This problem especially occurs when trying to drawing large straight lines or 'straight' curvers by hand in between points. Things have to fit perfectly, and when working on paper I always trace the line by hand to get a feeling for the line before actually drawing it.
When I do that in Painter and ofcourse moving my wacom pen fairly quickly, I often loose track of the precise movement.

Maybe it's because my wacom pad is slightly moving (and causes the pad to rotate?), cause I should have a good feeling where my pencil will end, no matter if I see it or not.

But anyway, is there some way to give the cursor another shape and/or color ? Larger brushes are no problem, it's mainly small stuff - zooming in is no option, since smaller line sections really influence the quality of the line work imo.

Thanks for any hints :)

I believe there is an option in general preferences to change your cursor to a paint brush icon. The only problem is this way you can't see your brush size based on your curson.

I dont think he's talking about that, I have the same problem. Sometimes the brush cursor will just dissapear. No matter what you choose as an icon it's the same problem, for me anyway. I have to mouse out of the program and back into it for the cursor to show up.

Is this happen when you're using very small brush size with the "enable brush ghosting" on? ( You can find it at the general preference ) With this option on, the cursor will turn momentary into the chosen brush size and if in very small size will make it almost invisible.
