View Full Version : Non-linear blendshapes
LFGabel 10-16-2002, 10:02 AM Greetings,
Is there any way to get a blend shape sequence (with inbetweens) to morph non-linearly, or on it's spline curve?
I seem to remember seeing this somewhere but can't remember how to access it. I can't find anything in the docs about it.
Thanks.

Don't know if there's another way of doing it, but I wouldn't use in-between shapes, just create a series of shapes you need and make them all separate targets to your base.
Then create a locator and add an attribute to it, then go to Set Driven Key and hook it up so that the right attribute setting controls the right Blendshape slider. Ramp up the effect of one slider as the preceding slider ramps down.
Then playing around with the f-curves you can make it any non-linear shape you like, it's a very flexible method that gives a lot of control and opportunities for fine-tuning.

Hey thanks, Stephen (or is it Steven)?
I'll give that a try.
