When cropping in the material editor in max, is it possible to do any other form of cropping apart from using the rectangular selection?

Thanks

newp.

..come to think of it, how would that even work?, a texture is two-dimensional, ie. length and width, I don't see how non-square cropping would work :)

At any rate, whatever your cropping-needs are, I suggest you do it in Photoshop or the likes.

I've just been using it only so it might sound like a stupid question, I meant like shapes like circles, diamonds etc non regular rectangular selections. Like the freeform lasso in Photoshop.

Thanks anways.

Hi

If i'm understanding it right, you are looking for a way to display non square or rectangle maps.

If that is the case i would look at creating a white over black image in photoshop or any program and applying that as an opacity map, leaving anything else outside of the white transparent.

You will have to play around from there though, thats just the start.
