View Full Version : Clip-mapping in maya
nozzy 10-16-2002, 09:10 AM Im trying to get a materials alpha channel (a tiff) to cut away the object on rendering so i get shadows of the texture and not the object. Ive tryed mapping the material through a stencil and a reverse to the transparent, i get the matrial to be transparent but not enough to get shadow off the texture:shrug:

you couldn't post up a still could you so we can get a closer snout?
I'm wondering if you couldn't set the render stats 'primary visibility' to off so it just casts shadows
