View Full Version : Editing a saved pattern?
Cameo 06-06-2005, 05:30 PM Hi all,
Is there any way to edit a pattern once it's saved? Including the default patterns? I know from the preset manager you can load/save/replace but how can you call it up to edit it (and then presumably replace/resave), I cant find any way to do this. Using PS7

i'll have to check i'm only used to the actions you're talking about thru the preset manager. i remember trying to do this before and being annoyed that photoshop didn't recognize duplicate names lol but i could be remembering wrong. I wanted to just edit the image and save over with the edit>define patter step but that's apparently not possible. I pretty much have all the default patterns deleted cause I don't care for them so i can't help ya with those. i find custom patterns if you're saving the images in a photoshop folder are so quick to edit it's not a big deal.

Yea seems a bit odd though. They obviously exist as bitmaps somewhere. So I dont see why it doesnt just let you double click on it to open and then edit & replace the existing pattern etc. Like you say, we can work round it, but does seem like pretty basic functionality.
