i have a proposal for you all!
so i have noticed that this forum is become more and more based upon the technical aspect of Rhino... i have nothing against that but after all we are cg artist are we not?
so my proposal is that we follow a tutorial to build on out technical knowledge of Rhino and then produce a final image.
some guidlines i was thinking of:
- all follow a tutorial posted by a cgtalk user (could bring satisfaction to that user - a nice way of telling them we appreciate the effort)
- all modeling and rendering must be done in Rhino with not plug-ins or additional assitance from programs
- a time limit of a week?? 2 maybe?? (to keep an active intrest and tutorials basic)
- possibly same angle and view for render
i would love for this to be a sucess, we had a glass modeling thing going for a while but everyone felt it was too basic and shruged it off. this way even the newest modeler should be able to get to a similar stage. if this is a sucess i do not see why mini comps within the Rhino forum based similar to the cgtalk challenges, where the artist has full creative control, cannot be a regular thing.
I think this would be a great way to start and form a stronger sub community of Rhino users.
So what do you think? These are just my ideas... one of many users here and i would love to here all of your opinions... positive or negative you have a voice too! I would be more than happy to lead this and help as much as i can, if we can agree on a tutorial and guidlines im sure we can have the first set up at the end of the week.
If you think aspects of this do not work please tell me as i want to set somethign like this up in the near future.. tweaking or a whole rework of the idea fine so lets hear what you ahve to say!
