I have set up a simple oil pump animation using very basic Xpresso and Target Expressions in v.8.5
The problem is that elements of the pump are very jerky and even flip over. I understand that the anchor point is flipping around 180 degrees causing the jerky animation, but don't know how to solve the problem.

The file i am working on can be downloaded from www.maneuver.co.uk.

I am quite new to using Expressions in c4d so any help would be really greatful

Thanks

Laurence

mmm had the same problems with targeting and didn't find anything with the targetting tag, the answers might be in a X presso rotation tag I guess....?

But still don't now how since i'm a noob in Xpresso.

Take a look at Bobtronic's Two Targets plugin:

Howdy,

What you need is Bobtronic's Two Target plugin. http://www.bobtronic.de/plugins/

The C4D built in target tag does not have an up vector and that's why you're having that flipping problem. You need an up vector on the rotation axis.

Adios,
