View Full Version : I can't paint on layers anymore

For some reason, painter 9 stopped allowing me to paint on layers. I'm not doing anything different from how Ive always worked, Im using the same brushes Ive always used, except they only work on the canvas, not on layers. Anybody have an idea of what's going on???

Probably a stupid question here, but are your layers somehow locking themselves when they are created?

Ah I figured it out; it's because I checked 'preserve transparency' for one layer, and it turns out that it's global for all layers, even newly created layers with nothing in them.

This really seems like a bug to me; preserve transparency should be per layer and not a global check box that is either on for all layers or off for layers. Why doesn't it act like photoshops, which seems much more logical to me.
