Hi animation people!

Im just curious if there are any interest in a daily / weekly animation group? Kinda like the sketchgroup one, but instead for animation. Or maybe just a "circle" were you critism each other and help to get better. Let me know if there is any interest.

Also, would people prefare;

1. Pre-made models, exported in .3ds format and then rig it yourself and animate?
or
2. Work with some of your model and the assignment?

Thanks,

Erik

well, how would that be different from what we do here ? Right now it sounds like a forum where we post stuff and critique each other, just like this one :)

unless you mean like a chat room with realtime feedback

sounds nice i guess ;p

but only .3ds leaves out a lot of peeps =[

mehdianim, right, but such a "group" would give some people a push to animate and not to make useless stuff :)

Talgoose, i think with 3ds and fxb all are served?

warbird, i like the idea, i would be on it, even if i couldnīt attempt every week

Hi again!

Internet downtime yesterday so I couldnt reply.

mehdianim:

Yes, it would be somewhat like this ordinary posting, but instead you would all go on the same task and critism each other in a circle, not only one person making something and critism it. :)

Talgoose:

I thought .3ds was importable in every program, but maybe it isnt? I'm not 100 % sure. Maybe its best that everyone work with their own models in that case. I'm open to hear what you all think

laber:

Awesome! You would only have to attempt when you felt like you wanted :)

I was thinking about using both assignments such as animating to sound, lipsync, squash and stretch, anicipation and all rules of animation. Not all of it in same assignment, but in much of it, so we could all get better on the rules and principles of animation. I think its a good way to both learn and educate ourselves in a good way.

If someone has any other idea I'd really love to hear. If the interest growth, then we could have one assignment by next week.

Timelimits, what is a good time to animate something? I guess we need more than 1 day, right? Maybe 3-4 days / assignment, and then 2-3 days of critic and then 1 day for final choices of "who did the best animation"? How does that sound?

Cheers!

Erik

this "timesheet" sounds good, lets give it a try
there could be a model in 3ds format for everybody who would like to use it, but who wants to can use their own ones (already riged/..)

or pre rigged ones like the ones found on rigging101.com or similar... I like the idea... basically it would be a cheaper version of am.com or similar to 10secondclub...
