Its interesting how different people see different things differently. Especially in unfinished drawings.

I was sitting here doodling some sketches letting the pen marks guide me. I had no final drawing in mind. But my sister walks in the room and says why are you drawing a ......?

Looking at the picture i didnt see what she was seeing. I was seeing something completely different.

So just out of interest and just for the sake of testing, i want to see what you guys see by finishing this drawing off.

I will post my finished one later aswell.

The PSD file is zipped.

It's an eye... but I think I have a good idea what your sister may have thought you were drawing... hehe.

Well i see an eye and i kept it simple in the next...i drew a face...

Tried to keep the same kind of lines but it became bad in the end :\

Here is the "thing" :

Agreed it's a fun exercise, i use to play the same kind with friends but with comic strip, the story and styles have not to be the same but there must be a relation between each stripes ...

Anyway i hope to see your finished soon !

now it could also be a cave ...
I continued this scetching a cave with waterfall and a bridge.. BUT, i made it so sketchy that it could actually look like something else.. continue this one if you dare ;)

i like this thread idea.
Made just a quick creature from the woods... not so matching but this is the first thing that came in my mind!

You people are weird :p

lol

I thought everyone saw an eye. Other saw trees and waterfalls and other more private things hehe.

THing was that my sister saw an eye and i saw an eye. The interesting part who did that eye belong too? My sister said why are you drawing an old man? I didnt see an old man, i saw a Gargoyl if anything.

Like i said, when i started this drawing i had no final peice in mind, i just let the pen strokes and thicks of the lines drag me into the direction the artwork was going. I saw a gargoyl then a santa cluase then a bear but the end peice came out as a Lynx or a bobcat or god know what it is.
If anyone else whats to start a similar thread, go ahead. I think it could be an interesting exercise but yeah, it could go into the sketch group.

This is a really cool idea for a daily or weekly sketch thread. Someone (a moderator perhaps) could sumbit part of a subject and see what everyone comes up with. I think it would be a really interesting and creative twist. Btw - at first I did see an eye as well, but because I was looking for it to be something else too, I saw a cave and a house.

Anyway it's still an eye for me... Don't know why, maybe it's because of a first impression :-)

I used to play a similar game in 11th grade - my friend next to me would draw a small doodle and I would have to turn it into a picture. He would make the doodles more and more complex to make it harder. Loota fun, great way to keep awake in class if you're not listening anyway...
