View Full Version : making waves
sampledude 06-03-2005, 08:07 PM I'm new to particle systems and reactor. I've tried to play around with reactor water with a panel but I'm trying to figure out how to get realistic water with wind. I mean, how could I create just a plane of water that reacts as though wind is blowing across the top of it causing small waves? I can't afford plugins, so I have to do this in max. Thanks.

i don't know if you have enough money for a book (GREAT VALUE IN THIS ONE!), but pete draper's book: deconstructing the elements is really good, and goes over that specifically without the use of plugins. http://www.xenomorphic.co.uk/gallery_dte.htm
