hi all,

Ok, so I have a copy of painter 9 (legal like) and it was running fine. Then I installed Kaspersky anti virus and system mechanic 5… and now when I go to run painter I get a message saying that “this copy of Painter has been damaged or illegally modified. Please reinstall from you original disks”. I tried that several times and still get the same message, however if I boot in safe mode it runs fine.

So the question, does anyone know what the conflict might be? Is the a setting I might need to check some were in my computers brain.. HELP please as I need my painter… !!!

~Thanks

Have you tried uninstalling Painter, and then reinstalling it? Make sure you backup all the custom brushes, settings..etc before uninstalling. Also, after you uninstall, if a folder still remains, delete it. I'd also use some kind of registry cleaner to do a cleaning, then restart, and reinstall.

Hi Tim!

The same thing happens for me when I run Painter. Did you find a solution to the problem?

It's a systems utility that finds obsolete/problematic registries so you can delete/fix them. Kinda like clearing out unnecessary junk in your room so you don't trip over stuff. Search in google and you'll find lots of registry cleaning softwares--some are free, some are commercial. I personally prefer JV16 Power Tools.
