MATTEAUS2004 06-03-2005, 04:09 PM Hi everyone,
this is a short film that we ( 3 students of the university of Hertfordshire) have just completed.
Looking forward to hearing what you think, I will warn you it is rude though.. :)

This short is a real great idea and funny. The granny "releasing wind" was quite funny and unexpected. lol. What year was this short for (1st/2nd/3rd)?
I saw a bit of your WIP on 3dhit, and the final short came out great. It is a bit rude at times, and some bits are... (such as that "elvis" guy in the bathroom...).
Overall, 5 out of 5, Good stuff

Well done chaps, a long hard slog but I think it's worth it in the end! I'm fairly sure your animation sets some world firsts for original gags in 3D! Good luck with the future.

That was a great short guys! Sure the textures and the animation could have used a little bit more polishing but the story was great. Can see that a lot of time has been invested in this piece.
Good job!

(SPOILER) Except for the part where the Grandma farts inside the shelter, this just wasn't my cup of tea. I didn't really find the characters very likeable and felt that the film didn't really spend enough time on the subject it was supposed to be about. I also felt there was some confusion about what the look of the film should be. There seemed to be several styles mixed together. I'm just not much for crude humor. Sorry guys.

also a spoiler:
the humor is just crude, one unfunny teenager after the other.
characters are really not appealing.
the animation sucks, there are tons of intersections. none of the anim has any weight or tension.
sorry for this hard crit, but I think you should take some more evaluation bout what you want to get out of a movie before you start a short. is it for the story, the humor, the style or the animation.
:hmm:

Well there were some truly original shots in there *spoiler* - I think this is the first time (and probably last) I'll ever see a turkey being fisted in animation! Did make me laugh, but that's probably because I was totally surprised. The cat gag at the end was also verging on too far, but funny all the same. Then again I am a south park fan so the kind of humour appeals to me :D
Its a very long piece, and I'm not sure how much is showreel material (the animation is a bit rough all the way through, and purely subject matter) but I think it worked as a short film, and kept me entertained, congrats on finishing it!

original adult humour. refreshing to see in an animation in today's saturated hollywood swarm of children's slapstick.

Some people are hating. If I can remember, Hertfordshire had a Digital Animation Film day. Was this film shown on the day cos I think It should have? and If it did, How did it go? Although I already said it, this short is really good, funny and original. Some people are just... Hmm...

thanks Aqeel, really appreciated... everyones entitled to their opinion, and thats all it is opinions....good and bad. Comedy is one of the most subjective subjects you can find.
yeah it was shown at the film day..there was a few problems with sound at the auditorium but it didn't go too bad...
the main thing is people have an opinion about it .. we didn't want to make the bog standard slap stick...
and even brilliant comedians like steve coogan, ricky gervais and the south parks guys are gone to have their critics....so it's all cool :)

Crude humour can be funny, if done right.
