hi,

is there any chance to have tp follow a spline path ?

i tried postion following, emitter follow path etc. but nothing looks expected. the particles have to change the diameter on there path and at the end, they must fly and form an object !

are you asking to make the particles follow a path? or just an emitter? you should be able to get very stisfactory results of an emitter following a path just by making sure that the path is "uniform" type, so that the emitter follows at an even rate, and by making sure that the emitter is emitting in the right directions at the right speed. if you want the individual particles to follow a path, then the easiest way is simply to place a colision object on the emitter and emit them into a tube (extrude along spline) object that they colide with, kinda a hosepipe type thingy. as for changeing size at the end of the spline, you can use logic operator nodes (compare node) to say that, past a certain frame (time node) the particles will al get larger (TPSetData node and a few others to make the transition smooth). or you could use a range mapper... if you want them to just expand in size according to the particles age on a per particle basis, then there's a TPage node which you can use to change the particle size. as for following/making up and object, i suggest downloading the softbody example from my website all you will have to do is switch on or off the TPfollow object node according to time or particle age. i hope that this helps.

hi,

many tnhxs for your help.
yes, the tube comes already in my mind but the collision of the particles with the tube are not the look alike i want (the bouncing of the particles). what i hunting for is the flow look in maya. the particles are smooth flowing around the control spline. there is no collision bounce effect.

thanks

maybe using a combination of the spline deformer and your particles might be the best option? i've not really experimented with them but they're pretty powerful... if you spline deform the thinking particle object... might work?

yes, i'll give this a try.
