sudently come out with some idea.....
is there any chances to use renderman with mentalray in maya??

i mean in practical way, like may be use renderman to calculate the displacement and mr to calculate the raytracing thing?

to be more pratical and productive way, combine the power of fastest render engine(renderman) with the best raytracing render engine(mr) in the market, without writing a new rendering program.just make use them in "smart" way together.

any idea or susgestion??

compositing stuff with intensive usage of masks, z-depth maps,alpha-channels. I don't know other ways

I don't know if it would be possible to code something like the frankenrender-pipe that people used to tie BMRT+PRMan together, to let BMRT do the raytracing-part.
But i guess that with the new raytracing-optimizations in PRMan that happened in the last years, it wouldn't make much sense to build and use something like that. You're probably better off using one or the other in one shot or for certain elements and bring them together in post.

If you have to use raytracing at all in your scenes, you should tune it very well to get the optimal rendering-speed in the end...like not too many ray-bounces, not everything has to reflect everything else and for endless distances etc etc.
