View Full Version : Fade cmd not always available?

Sometimes I can't get the Edit > Fade command to work. I do a filter, like Unsharp mask, then hit Ctrl-Shift-F to fade it a bit, but nothing happens. I go to the Edit menu only to find the Fade cmd is grayed out.

In the past I've been able to fade the same filter, just not recently.

Is there a rhyme or reason to why it is available sometimes but not others?

Maybe it's because there's a Layer Mask on the layer?

Try applying the layer mask before you use the unsharp mask/fade combo. I just did a quick test and the fade is greyed out for me with I have a layer mask on the layer...if I applied the mask, the fade isn't greyed out anymore.
