View Full Version : Save&Load bones animation
AnonyMouse 06-01-2005, 08:41 PM Hi! I am interesting is it possible to save and load animation from/to bones in Lightwave? I need to make a hundrets of units with few animations - walking, fighting, etc and I don't want to animate again and again each new. I want to apply the ready animation to the bones. I don't know Lightwave but interesting of this feature - it is very important for me to know this.

Do you want to save the animation for the complete character in one time? Then use motionmixer. Perfect for doing huge scenes with lots of different animated characters.
You just have to make a couple of different animations and load and save them as you like.
You can even stretch them in time and make cycles or mix animations. It's a non-lineair
editing system for layout.
For simple motion saving just use save/load motion in the 'file' menu.
You can also make a few scenes with some characters parented to a null.
And then use 'load from scene' to put them together. In 5 min's you have scene with
hundreds of animations .
Hope that helps http://www.cgtalk.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

in newtek.com and in the video tutorial side there is a very cool motionmixer and some particle system that can have a character animation prerecorded and replace the particle.
ok, in layman term, is basically u animate and record the animation, then create a particle and replace the small particle with ur character that with the prerecord animation. cool huh??
but... the newtek site seems to have problem. else i will post the link here.
hope this help :P
