Quick question:

I have a grid emitting particles from it's nodes and then I'm attaching objects to the particles via FX_Linker. I would like to know if it's possible for the emitted particles to stay attached to the points that emitted them if I move the emitter around or deform it.

OR, can I parent objects to another object's nodes?

thanks,

I know this sounds dumb, but if the particles are objects and you want the particles to stay attached to the grid, why not just make the objects themselves instead of particles and have them parented to the object itself?

fair enough question, but I'm need to be able to control the rotation of each object that is parented to each null, and I can't do that the way you are describing.

I got some help on this from Splinegod. He had a good technique using dynamics and then using editFX to convert vertices to individual nulls and parenting my objects to the nulls.

There is also at least one plugin at flay.com that does it.

thanks for the help.
