I have just purchased painter 9 and have been experimenting with all the brushes and variants, I have gone through each brush category and have painted some experimental images to help myself adapt to the program.
I have also used the watercolours and digital watercolours, but the thing that bugs me is when you are painting in this medium you cannot seem to use white for some reason, I have tried playing with the settings but still no white paint, I know you are supposed to paint form light to dark and most traditional artists use the white of the paper as the white in the image, but I prefer to paint in the white as it gives more control, have I missed some setting or is this just a feature of the watercolours?
I know I could use the airbrush or chalk to paint in the white, but I prefer not to mix mediums at the moment as I am not sure if painter does anything to the canvas when switching from watercolours to chalk etc.
