View Full Version : BodyPaint 3d question
theboman 05-31-2005, 11:18 PM Using BodyPaint and 3ds Max, I want to assign multiple textures (not channels/along with their repecetive textures) to a single mesh. Can someone point me in the right direction?
Thank you!

you mean multiple materials?

no, multiple textures. Lets say I have a box one side has rust and another side is wood. I would like to assign two 512 X 512 textures, one with wood and the other rust.

why use bodypaint? you can do that with polygon selections fairly well enough, 3ds max has got to have something like that.

Both can be done. If you want it to be polygons based do what JIII said, use selection sets and assign multiple materials to the object. Otherwise you can copy/paste the textures wherever you want.

If my memory serves me right, Max requires multi-sub object textures for this type of texturing task.

yes setting up and mapping in max is not a problem, is there any easy way to get it to do the mapping for two textures in bodypaint? Or do you have to grab the polys and manually set those up... I would assume so right? I guess its not that big of deal thou right. But you have to initialize them in max.
thanks
