Hi, I'm currently a sophomore at my city's local high school and I'm working on a simple animation of a race track. But I've come up against a problem with shadows on a plane which is mapped with an opacity map.

The object is just a plane with an opacity map... so I can see why the shadow is like such... but... can anyone explain a method in which I could get the shadow to be of the texture? Rather than the object?

hmm, try raytraced shadows instead of shadow-map

What he say. :D

Shadow maps don't pick out opacity maps... sadly :(

Hopefully Discreet will fix this bastard (I mean, if they can show opacity maps in the viewports - why the hell can't the work them into the shadow maps!)

:D
