View Full Version : Layers with alpha channel premultiplied, is possible?

Hi, maybe somebody can help me, I have two layers, based on a 3dmax render, one is the base render, and the other are some objects with alpha channel (premultiplied with black), if I compose these layers on combustion or after effects, I get a perfect blend, but in photoshop, I got a little non-antialiased border, like the premultiplied is not working. (btw, I´m not a ps expert user).
Any ideas?

thanks!

sounds like the classic problem when you've rendered transparency to a black background

off the top of my head, I'd suggest you select the contents of your layer (ctrl+click the layer) and go select>modify>contract by a pixel or two, then invert your selection and delete the offending pixels.

Now I´m using the contract way to clean the border, but I don´t like the result, I´m looking for something more accurate like combustion premultiplied option. If I render the picture premultiplied against white I get white borders instead of black borders?

Go to Layer > Matting > Remove Black Fringe. That should clean it up real nice.
