pigbelly 10-14-2002, 10:39 PM Hi....
It's a baboon, I promise. He’s just a bit mad:-)
Tell me what you think! There is still time for changes

looks great
maybe take the claws off the front feet and have more of a big fisted look... if all else fails, you can always draw some big monkey ears like the ones in super monkey ball.
Wow!!! I really love that style - reminds me of 200AD, Mean Machine etc..
What mediums have you drawn this in? Everything is super-clean and really detailed. The wall looks almost real.. totally amazing. I can't really crit this pic because I can't draw anywhere near as good. But ( :)- just thought of one thing ), maybe make the baboons back leg claws a little less white so they don't draw your attention quite so much. But thats a tiny tiny thing and only my opinion.. its 5 stars as it is!
What size is the original artwork? If you ever print some off, i'd love one for a poster to go next to my computer

Looks great! The whole style of it actually reminds me of something out of a Resident Evil game. And there's nothing wrong with that.

 WOW , thats really good, has kind of a bisley style to it.
Yeaaaaah buddy! That's great! :xtreme: Nice textures and detail so far. I love the creature but like the others have said ... it doesn't look much like a baboon with those claws. The claws are more dog or cat-like. But without the claws it may look less intimidating and hostile (would be difficult to get that ferocity with monkey hands). Only other suggestion I have is to make the upper arms more muscular so it has the strength to pull limbs out of sockets and such. And some very moody and dramatic lighting would make this even more terrifying, I think.
Good job though ... definately top notch material!

>falls down from chair< Wow! for a moment, i thought it was 3D. Then i remembered i was in the 2d gallery...
That's some Fantastic environment! I love the way you colored it! The grimy feel really does work with the baboon... and i like the way it is detailed, but not in the way the Baboon is detailed.
And the baboon is just a stunner! Lookit the details! waa!
but, yeah, i think ears would look nice on him... and moodier lighting would really bring the whole scene out!
neato! My pc screen is eroding from all that quality work! mwahahah!

-the beckground is my favorite part, i like the sketchy typ
of painting that u used there , i woudnt change it , its realy good!
-The baboon is at my oppinion to bright , an a bit to colourfull.Try to balance the saturation and brightness of the beckground and the animal.
...anyway great work

Beautiful!!!! Actually not beautiful, quite ugly really, but I love it anyway. I suggest working on the background a bit more. On the right side mostly there is more detail than you need, you can try darkening it and/or blurring it out a little. Bring some more focus back to the baboons face. Too bad we can't see a big red butt on him, though.
Nice work!
