View Full Version : Lighting Object with Mental Ray
Shiver / Rayfresh 05-30-2005, 02:11 PM Hello everybody,
i'd like to use an object as a light.
I didn't find any subject about it... :hmm:
i put a lambert on the object
Incandescence to White
Diffuse to white
I turn on Preview finalgather or GI and it doesn't work well... :hmm:
How to make a real lighting object ?
With controled intensity, etc...
Thank you.

In your color Chooser change the V to something higher than 1 somewere around 10, then change your FG rays to 10 thousand or close to it. U can play around with the numbers to get what you want.

10,000 tends to bog renders down to disgusting levels. There's got a way to render fast radiosity. I can't believe that MentalRay would be that far behind LightWave's internal renderer. Any ideas?
