Hey all! I painted this one after school one day. Concentrated most on the figure as you can see- I'd like to get some C&C to improve it.

I used Photoshop7 and Painter8

Thanks in advance!!

I think the composition is nice, but I think you seriously need to go pull up some references for roman legionaire armour - it appears you have ad hoced the armour to a mental perception of what your mind "thinks" legionaire armour should look like. Good luck.

Hey that looks pretty good I like the dramatic lighting, it adds to the composition. I dont think that the armor looks that bad, it reads like armor, maybe just fiddle with it and look at some references.

Hey,

Not sure how it looks compared to real roman armor but I think it's preety tight... I really like it...

The only real crits would be I think his pupils stick out a little much, and that white dot is a little strong. maybe you have the dot that bright on purpose I don't know..

But I like it. ...

Thanks for the crits people :)! Yeah you are right- maybe the name 'Roman Soldier' isn't so appropriate due to the mistakes on the authency of the armor but i wasn't looking for that when started painting. This was originally a doodle and i didn't bother looking for references and later on i found it too hard to fix.

Thanks again- really appreciated!
