so here is my first attemp to make a player model
though ill make a wip thread, and get some of your tips/feedback on the progress
here is the model,
really isnt that good, my modeling skills are pretty bad since im not a modeler really
i will change it while im working for sure
but im kind of happy with the head so i started skinning it

You should be proud of it, my first player model was crappy compared to this one! the texture seems to be shaping up nicely too.
Post a wire (and fix those smoothing groups), that would help give some feedback.

I know how talented you are, and that you want to expand your portfolio, so here is everything I see that could make this a REALLY good first player model:
1 - hands much too small. Hands should be as long as the face is tall.
2 - a larger pic with better smoothing and a separate wireframe pic would help a LOT!
3 - the top of the bicep bulges out quite a bit - as biceps get larger they tend to grow forward and back (in the T pose) rather than up or down.
4 - The arms look a smidge short, but it could just be the perspective. when his arms are at his sides, the elbow should be even with his belly button, and his palms level with the bottom of his crotch.
5 - I would like to see larger trapezius muscles
6 - the back of his arm is just kind of poofy and round - there should be a fairly strong indentation a little ways beneath where the deltoids attach to the arm, indicating the tricep muscle.
7 - great skin tones on the face! the cheek looks a tad sunken, but i know it is still a WIP.
Overall this is very good, especially for your first player. organic modeling like this is just a lot of tweaking and checking and changing and fixing, don't get frustrated! A few changes and tweaks and you will have a really excellent portfolio piece.
PS: are you allowed to say where you have been contracting lately? I know you can't show the work but I am just curious :)

yea, the model really needs some more work, i see if it can be fixed =\
i'd like to get more details on the head too, it looks pretty flat and im not happy with it
i got more progress on the head texture
here is it now, not done tho, still think it can be better (i just started the hair)
once ill get more work on the model ill post wires
