This is the first time I'm posting an actual character on this site...or any site for that matter....eek!

I've attached some texture variations...of the character.

A little history on this guy....I started working on him a little over a year ago...funny thing is...is that he doesnt look much different than he did back then....the only thing that has changed is me....I used this same guy to learn different aspects of maya, then I used him to learn Zbrush (texturing and displacement mapping), then finally XSI ( modelling, applying diplacements, rigging, creating synoptics...etc...everything I would need).

I hope you like it, my goal is to have a complete character to animate with...not that I would need something this complete to get good animation...I just want it...and I figure I have some time right now.

Thanks folks

I love it. Cool character. My only small critique is that his arms and especially his fingers seem too skinny compared to the rest of the body. And I like the purple version better BTW.

Thanks Pencil Head....I know about the hands....it was one of those things...I was dead set on making them work somehow...they were inspired by Haides (spelling?) from Hercules...I love that character.....and I was hoping to get the same impact...but throughout all of the many many iterations of the character....those are probably the one part that never changed....stubborn...but I agree.

I'm attaching some more pics ....since it limited me the first timenot very different...but I kinda like the orange guy's back...and the pink guys belly...but I hate the texturing job I did on the pink one's hands and arms

Hey Kahwatikid, nice character...I am going to be watching this one...the purple is cool, reminds me of an evil Barney, are you using displacements....?

heh..cool thanks HaloAnimator....I may have to fix up the purples texture a bit.....

indeed there are displacement maps...well actually 1 map. Until I figured out how to use them in xsi properly from zbrush....I hated them...hence the purple guy with no displacements. But after I got it figured out....fairly simple....I love 'em. As you see the character there....orange takes about 4 min's to render...the purple one took forever...I think he looks really cool...mainly because of final gathering and xsi interface showing...he has no displacements. With the "view dependent" check box on in xsi ...it takes about 45 mins to render....and the disp. looks pretty nifty....but hardly worth the time
