Are you just modeling and seeing what you come up with or are going off drawings or concepts? If you are just modeling I think you should draw something out. It helps alot when you can work out many of the details on paper before committing to a great amount of time on the computer. But if you do have concepts I would like to see them. I was going to reccomend that you make the legs larger but in your update you fixed that. :) So what type of characters is he? Is he a hero or a jokester? Just curious, I think if when someone thinks about who and what their character is it helps alot.
Ok, so to me his arms and legs are looking a little bit like ballons. Since it is a robot maybe segment it instead of having him one big model. His eyes remind of Garfield eyes, funny stuff.

Hehe now i just started with a sphere and modeled what i thought no concepts, ill fix the arms by making segments as i did to the spline and so, what kind of characer it is ehmm... dont know i want to make him funny, like whe he's walking down the street he gets hit by a car or what ever i like that kind of humor ;) i hope the animating will go smoothly never animated before ! thanks for you comments Eye
