Could you be a little more specific?

This isn't a big project or anything, I'm new to blender and I'm just screwing around:bounce:. I just filmed some shots of my fishtank, and I want to make a 3d submarine and make it appear as though it is in there. I figure I'll need to apply some affect to make it look like it's behind glass.

just make a plane go to the materials tab and set your raytransparency on, and fiddle with the settings. oh and dont forget to click "ray" inyou render tab. if you dont get it just ask again.. ill go in depth.

Just remember to mach the refraction index (IOR setting) on the plane with that on the aquarium water.. and to duplicate on the 3D space the same lighting that you got on your fish tank.. that should do the trick.

your are looking for the material settings for glass right?
here they are:
shaders: Lambert: Ref: 1.0
Spec: 2.0
Hard: 511
Mirror Transparency: Ray mirror
ray mirror: 0.03
IOR: 1.3
Ray transp.
to make it really transparent, regulate the Alpha thing (A) but i usually dont touch it at all
