View Full Version : Anti aliasing in any % of view
hermine 05-27-2005, 04:38 PM Is there a plugin to achieve This in PS?, ive been using a trial of open canvas wich comes with preselected zoom % of views wich are all anti aliased, does CS improved this?

I think I understand your Problem
To avoid the anti_aliasing on the pixel level try using youe PENCIL toll instead of your BRUSH tool that should give you a sharp crisp line

nop i mean in PS when you zoom in or out your image only certain zoom % are anti aliased.

I think this is because photoshop dont interpolate the picture. You should work at 100% to view your final pic. if other apps can show better in scaled view, so they dont are perfect at 100% because you work then with interpolations of your pic...
PS does interpolate/antialias the image at anything bar 100% view.

I like to use zoom only with "built-in" zooming increments by using "Ctrl +" and "Ctrl -" keyboard shortcuts. Those imho looks best... less aliasing.

if you got no antilased places you can use the Blur tool with 5% and go around the no antileased place. I think this can help ;)

You can also use path stroke and blur to force anti-alias in an easy way.

Images will only look correct at 100%, but will look good at 50%, 25%, 12,5%, but look jagged at 67,7% 33,3%.... I don't know why or how it works though....
because when its at 50% 1 in 2 pixels are shown, when its at 25% 1 in 4...but at other %'s the pixels dont divided evenly.

:) I know that the pixels are divided equally, with 50%, 25%, it's divided by two.... I'm no mathematical genius, but this I do understand, but I thought beyond that.... I thought there was some other technical reason, that I was sure someone could explain. But maybe it's all just mathematics.... :)
