i've been wondering for quite some time, but am not quite sure.
In the material browser there is a dot next to the materials. Some are red and some are blue. Does anyone know what that means?

I know when you create a new material the different colors stand for different renderers and such, but some of the materials I can't figure out why they are red. Most of them are blue.

Does that signify anything. I was hoping to find some kind of legend in the help file, but couldn't find anything.

Saw the same question on 3dmax.de and tada here's quick answer: the blue/red indicates wether the material is visible in the viewports or not. Don't ask me if this goes for the whole mat or only for specific maps and I have no idea which color indicates what state of display.
