I'm not sure what you're trying to ask but here's something I think it migth help you. You want to increase the base resolution? select a panel (the pattern-icon with a horizontal line inside in the perspective view) Display the Attribute Editor and click the panelShape tab. In the Channel Box, locate panelShape. Change the resolution factor to 2 (or 3, or 4, this is a multiplier, that is base resolution= 25 * 2 => 50 and so on)

If you want to decrase the resolution, change the Resolution factor to 0.5 or something like that, though i have no idea why would you want to decrease it.
