Personally, i'm really excited for this. i think it sounds like such a frickin' cool concept...

As a matter of fact, I can already envision the dozens of hours spent glassy eyed in front of this game as I progress my civilization. :)

After seeing Will's talk and demo of Spore I can not wait to play and experience this game. The way he quickly altered a character by pulling it's bones around and adding limbs willy nilly and then seeing it move, eat, procreate, etc was astounding. Also the shot when he was terraforming the planet and all the clouds slowly appeared and lightning started to go off and it was all procedural. Wow!

Thanks for that link. When Will showed it to us someone had put in a new sound and it kept crashing his demo at the point where he was making volcanoes. So we hadn't seen the genesis device portion on.

Yes, His lectures that he does over at GDC are always very good.
The only thing that bothered me about the game so far is when the civilation hits the space age…

It just seems to me that the game should then evolve along the path of something like Homeworld2 or something out of starwars… From what he showed us at GDC, it looks like after you hit the space age, the game dissolves into just colonizing other planets…

Just tossing out my opinions on the subject. And if ya remember he said that it was just in the demo stage… So who knows!
