Would be better to use tablet?

I prefer my mouse over a tablet (or any input device). I love my wacom, but just not for 3d.

I gave it a chance for a month or two, but in the end the mouse is the better device.

Wacom is the only brand of pen tablet to buy, in my opinion

I started getting worse RSI from a tablet than I used to get from a mouse. I think it's because it's rather stressful to hold down a switch on a pen for extended periods of time (and that's what you do for viewport navigation). Wacom also has some precision problems with max and certain problems while switching applications. So I would suggest you try before you buy. It's good to have alternative input devices in any case.

I always use a tablet, you just need some handy shortcuts (zoom, pan, rotate) so you don't have to press those buttons on your pen all the time.

when i bougth my tablet aroun one year ago y life change in a positive way, of course i don't use the pen in the 3DMax but the mouse with 5 buttons and two of the fully customisable let you save time and in the tablet comes whit more buttons, if you have the oporyunity to buy one, do it!
