View Full Version : Pixel popper render
igor popovic 10-13-2002, 01:14 PM I rendered a scene with a single light source, that being an advanced light override material, this is all in max5, the rendering took a few long hours, i think its cuz i set the 'bounces' to about 7 in the advanced lighting raytracer....anyways, i kinda solved the problem by reducing the 'bounce' number, this helped both in time it took to render and the pixels disappeared, i just thought people might be interested in seeing this 'phenomenon'?!
here's a small pic of this....
other ideas, samples, etc. are very welcome
igor
edit: at first i mentioned about changing the volume, but i was wrong, i ment to say bounces...sorry if i gave someone a headache over that!

Seems something intresting to ask in the discreet forums...
I think someone is having a suprise party, but no one came...
Check your material editor.
If the bounce isn't set high enough the material will render a color like the ones that a showing.. Its kinda like, you have enough bounces, but if you have too . Take a look in your raytraced material rollout and take a look at the color after a certain number of bounces. Maybe consider using a reflect/refract to get the same results without the headache. I used to have a similar problem. If I have a more definate solution I'll post it tomorrow.
