Hi All,

I need to know how to create the effect of Max's additive transparency In Maya. I have a plane with a firery image in the middle, sorrounded by black. The black is supposed to be transparent, and the fire opague. Now If I duplicate the plane and move it directly behind the first one, Maya should render each pixel at twice the intensity, making it brighter. Sort of like the Screen blend mode in photoshop.

Can anyone hel out?

Use incandesenses instead of color, and then make the object transparent. That will make it an "add" over whatever is behind it.
