Say i have a texture map that need some sort of corretion, how can i view what my texture looks like after going trough the correction node?
I must have seen or read about this somewhere, as I'm pretty sure this is douable, i just always got around it by just assinging my texture to a dummy lambert's color channel, and then applying that dummy shader on my actual geometry.
Now im toying with the misss shader, and id like to use the my color map to drive the different scatter layers. Or course, using the exact same map wouldnt give me good results, so i wanna change the the colors of it using maya's color correction nodes. But when i plug my map into say, a colorremap or rgb>hsv, the correction nodes display the default icon. id like em to show me what the texutre looks like after being correted.
If this is not something possible, what is there to do to avoid swapping shaders on my geometry just to preview my textures?
And also, if impossible to do, what is going on in this network (http://www.cgnetworks.com/story_custom.php?story_id=2915&page=) (scroll down a tad), for say the bottom most map (in the network, not of the 4 larger ones displayed on the right), which seems to get brightened, what node is it plugged into?
