View Full Version : Speeding Up My Movie
Sean121 05-24-2005, 08:56 PM I would like to export my After Effects proj (as a quicktime movie) so it plays back faster. It's currently 45 seconds long but I what it to be about 30 seconds long (containing all the footage etc) so the movie looks like I've pressed the fast forward button.
Is this possible in AE?

I think you are looking for a feature called "time remapping".
You can look it up in the help file, but it's very easy to use. First you have to enable it: "Layer > Enable time remapping" and then you get access to (initial) start and end keyframes. Just drag the end keyframe from the end of the timeline (at 45 secs in your case) to 30 sec. And that's it.
But if you want it to really look like video fast forward, you also need to add some extra grunges, noise, pixellation and what not to it...
Note: if you have sound it will also speed up...
