i wonder if there is already a muscle-simulation plugin for maya. i only found "act", which seems to be still under development, but i think, some time ago, there was a link from cgchannel to another site with such a tool. unfortunately, i can`t find it any more.

thanx in advance

manuel

Yes there is and it ships with Maya. You can do all sorts of muscle deformations with deformers and influence objects.

Get the bodyShape mel from http://www.animagicnet.no/maya
With this script you can position your joint and remodel to make a blend shape which then automaticly will be driven by the rotation of the joints. Very nice.

first of all: a lot of thanks for your replys

MCronin:
yes, i know maya is an incredible powerfull package and it`s deformers offer great possibilities. but what ì`m really looking for, is a plzg, which is specialized in deforming the mesh by underlying, interacting muscles.

MosaFacku:
great link, i will try that as soon as possible

Graf Orlok:
i never heard of that script before, but i will check it immediatly

You can do this with influence objects, that's pretty much their purpose.
