---------------PROJECT CANCELED-----------------
Sorry guys, not enough energy for this project.. I'll be back, though..
--------------------------------------------------

Hi all,

I'm getting ready for my 4 week project exam at my 3D Design course at the Noroff Institute, in Oslo, Norway. I've been playing around with various ideas, and landed on something funny and easy to do - potatoe head star wars characters! :)

The idea is to use simple and funny character together with the finalToon cel-shade plugin to create a cartoonish "feel" with a hint of realism. I will be trying to use some Global Illumination on my environments (when I get there), some early tests of this have been excellent. You might be asking yourself if cel-shaded and GI go together, (like comparing picasso to real life photographs), I can assure you it's gonna be great!
The final goal is to create a simple, funny animation with some nice plot twists!

Everybody who gives me a pointer I follow in this thread, I will credit at the end of the film!

So please, follow me for the next 4 weeks as I try to create something that will be fun for all!

Software used: 3d studio max 7 with Cebas finalRender and finalToon. Photoshop.

PROJECT STATUS: Modeling characters, writing plot, testing GI with finalToon.

Status rapport: modeled Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, and a stormtrooper. The results were quite nice, but of course I need more tweaking. Comments are welcome! :bounce:

This looks like it could turn out to be really funny. The only suggestion I have is maybe shorten their arms. Unless that is they way you want them to be ;) I am assuming that you plan on using the toon shader for your animation. Hope to see more!

Don't get overwhelmed by the technology.Make sure your story works before you go into the cell shading mumbo jumbo.
