Hey guys,
I am very new to ZBrush about 1 day new, i have been useing the Practical Guid to learn the program and i am about 1/2 way threw it. However i have a problem when i save my objects and try to load them again they convert to pixols and i dont know how to continue to work on them in 3D, it is like i cant select them again. i know this is a stupid easy thing but i cant figure it out

... if you try --DOCUMENT>SAVE AS...--- you save pixols,
... if you try --TOOL>SAVE AS...--- you save your tool (your 3D object)

if u didnt save the tool or at least export it as a geometry type of file (eg OBJ..)
that means you lost it...

Tools are 3D
Documents are 2.5D - this means hieght information only.

If you save a document you "drop" the model to the canvas and only record the hieght informtion facing out from the canvas.

The difference between a tool and a document is one of Zbrush's fundemental lessons. Once this is understood there is a lot of power here but till then it is only fustration.

I understand you pain but it gets better from here.

... I think pixologic have to rename the save as in save pixols, then nobody who is first time playing with zbrush makes this mistake in future...

Its a core concept in Zbrush. Not just that it is Pixols but that it is a Document which is more than just Pixols.

I don't see a way around this except for more education. The difference between a tool and a document is a very powerful difference. It is also a new concept.
