Has anyone had any experience with these plugins for fusion? Are they worth the purchase for production work?

YES.

I believe Sapphire is essential. Very fast glows, blurs, and other effects. VERY fast previews and renders.

I used monsters in 5dCyborg, and found them to be quite useful. Excellent 3d particle system which is quite fast. Includes a warper I haven't used yet. Worth the price for serious compositing.

What about Monster? Anyone had any experience? More essential than Saphire?

Thanks

The Monster plugins are very cool. There will be some overlap between Monsters and Sapphire, but I think Monsters are more inegrated with Fusion and have more options. You can see a tutorial by Chris Maynard (http://www.cmivfx.com/) using the Monster's Rain plugin and making the rain bounce off a logo.

Enjoy!
