Good and Usefull tuts

The ones that come with max are good for learning the basics.

tried those, way too long and i havent learned a damn thing from those. i learn from other peoples tuts because they are more person to person talking rather then a machine typing

If you're not learning anything from the tutorials that come with Max, then you might want to try going through them a couple times. Maybe one time following the instructions carefully, and a second time trying to do it without the instructions. Most of them just seem long, because they take the time to point out where every button and menu item you need to use can be found in the standard UI. Of course, once you've gotten to the point where you can get around the UI without the step by step instructions, these tutorials start to be a breeze to go through. But it's the fact that they take the time to do this that makes those tutorials absolutely the best resource for beginners.

Other than that, you might want to check out the free tutorials at 3dcafe.com. Honestly, a lot of the tutorials there are extremely outdated (they're based on much much older versions of Max), and...questionable...but they work for beginners.

Other than that, take a look through the tutorials and tips board here. You'll find plenty of tutorials at all levels there, especially in the 'tutorials galore' thread.

if u find the tuts that come with max too long, then maybe 3d isn't your thing....

do 'em and learn! patience will get u far in this game imo
