View Full Version : Limitations of the Dreamscape demo question
Ingsoc75 05-23-2005, 04:20 PM Besides the limitations listed in the release notes, I have some questions regarding the demo. Are there limitations to the sea shader? I'm having a hard time getting good aerial shots of the ocean with an island. Whenever I follow the tutorial and add the sky and sun and then select Use DS sky and then add Sub Surface it's really dark and the water around the island is not shallow like it should be.
I can post a render if anybody needs a reference on what I am talking about.
Cheers

Hmm, to my understanding there isn't any limitations to the sea material. Yes, post a screenshot of the problem you're having.

is the limitations of the demo version includes there's no ''Dreamscape :subsurface'' [environment->atmosphere->effects]
because setting : the underwater color type DS subsurface [material editor] with physically based model=automatique + exposure control on/off (it depends) [environment->atmosphere->effects->DS subsurface ] ,gives a quiet nice looking scene

Here are 2 screenshots of the island in the sea. As you can see with DS Subsurface not enabled I get the sea with the island. In the 2nd picture I have enabled DS Subsurface with Subsurface enabled in the SeaMaterial Underwater Color setting and everything is black.
Any ideas? Anybody have the tutorial file so I can see how it is set up?
Cheers
