Ultrakobra 05-23-2005, 02:19 PM Hi,
my question is :is there any way to paint using XSI(not using photoshop or something) textures directly in the model?.
Thanx and sorry about my bad english.

No, sorry - there isn't. You should use a program such as Deep Paint 3D.

Here's a freeware projection painter, never tested it myself beyond a quick dabble so no idea how good it is, sorry.
If you have a bit of cash Z-Brush2 can do what you want and apparently BodyPaint now works well with XSI.

Note: I am in no way suggesting tattoo is comparable to a commercial product like those I mentioned, I just remembered having bookmarked a link to a freeware paint gizmo and thought it might be of some use to the guy.

I personally wouldn't use Tattoo with XSI. I tried out that program and it was just too slow to really work with. BodyPaint, Zbrush and Deep Paint are going to be your best choices. I would suggest downloading the BodyPaint demo and try it out for yourself...you can create a very nice base texture with BP and do some nice post effects in Photoshop (or your image editing app of choice)

Yeah, I was only pointing out a possible cheap option, if you have cash, one of the commercial apps is the way to go definitely.
