CGTalk - ring-like things

Hi...I'm a newbie in 3D world....
I'm using a 3dmax now...

I got a little problem....
I want to create a ring-like things, which is formed with segments, and each segment consist of a complicated shape...you know....like creating a donut but with a complicated shape in each segment....
